SONGWRITING

FREE THE NIP

MuMu is a NYC born and raised musician. She began writing songs as early as she began forming memories. Walks home from school led to jingles, family gossip led to torch songs, a soccer goal led to female power anthems. She began acting as a teenager with success, all the while spending time working on her sound as a songwriter and singer. Now, she is ready to step out of the shadows of solitary songwriting and into the even darker shadows of the music industry. MuMu has been writing and producing music with 5x Emmy-award-winning music producer, Jamie Lawrence. Their first release, "Free the Nip," was released in February of 2018.

BEST SUMMER EVER

MuMu has co-written the music and lyrics to the soundtrack of Zeno Mountain Farm’s "Best Summer Ever" - a musical movie that has been made with an entirely integrated cast and crew of disabled talent. This revolutionary feature film has hopes of changing the narrative around disability in the media and throughout entertainment industry.
"The cheeky showtunes, co-written by onscreen villain MuMu... are a hoot." - The Hollywood Reporter

WRAPPED UP

“Wrapped Up,” retells real stories of three women who faced the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy. It expresses the vitality of one’s right to choose, and the detrimental effects of those rights being taken away.

When I was a little girl, I didn’t fully understand the term ‘pro-choice’ I thought that meant I would be ok with having an abortion if the time came. One of my older sisters delicately explained to me that pro-choice isn’t about personal choice, it’s about acknowledging that everyone has the right to choose for themselves. A simple shift in perspective made all the difference. As I got older, I realized that not everyone has a wise family member or friend to help them gain perspective. It’s difficult to determine what’s fair or just when we’re inundated with misinformation and skewed personal agendas.  But it’s not my place to tell you that you’re wrong. I just tell stories – real stories about living, breathing women who have been overlooked and under-heard.

"The song is groovy and slow, and her vocals are reminiscent of Alanis Morissette." - NYSMusic
